John A. Thompson photograph albums, 1943-1945.

The collection consists of two photograph albums that belonged to Lt. Colonel John A. Thompson. The first holds photographs of Ford Motor Company's Willow Run Bomber Plant in Willow Run, Michigan. It includes images depicting production of the B-24 bomber, dignitaries and visitors to the plant, formal and informal portraits, and various special events. A few of the photographs have captions or notes attached identifying people and events. Examples include a photograph entitled "Last B-24 Leaving Willow Run" and another entitled "Ford's 8000th V-8 Liberator." The second album holds photographs depicting Chrysler Corporation's B-29 bomber airframe assembly plant in Detroit, Michigan. Each album has T.J.A. monogrammed on the front cover.
